Add avatars to your Blogs on a BuddyPress/WordPress multisite Network

Anu (@anusharma) wrote this plugin around a Β week ago and today, I am glad to introduce it. The blog avatar plugin allows blog admins to upload avatars for their blog. Β The goal of the plugin was to allow changing avatars for blogs on a BuddyPress based site.

If you have installed BuddyPress with WordPress multisite, you might have noticed that admin users avatar was used for blog avatar. This plugin fixes that issue and allows blog admins to upload an avatar for each of the blog.

Features:

  • Allow Admins to Upload/Crop avatar
  • Automatically filter BuddyPress blog avatars to use the uploaded avatar

That's right. It automatically filters the BuddyPress blog avatars to use uploaded avatar for a blog if an avatar was uploaded.

Screnshots:-

Once an avatar is uploaded, you can delete it too.

Here is how it looks in the blog directory

Currently, we do not support uploading avatar from front end. As per our test we feel that the current work flow of BuddyPress blog creation does not leave much space for allowing avatar upload from front end.

The blog avatar plugin was developed by Anu Sharma (@anusharma). It is her first plugin which we are releasing on BuddyDev, please do not forget to leave a comment and appreciate her work. We are looking forward to your feedback.

  • Great funcionality! πŸ™‚ Well done!

  • Thank you pretty women Anu πŸ™‚ I have one request though. Would it be possible to make the plugin set a default Blog Avatar until they upload their own? Instead of the plugin still pulling the blog admins avatar by default? Thank you again!

    • Thank you for the kind words Kyle πŸ™‚
That is a very nice suggestion. Let me implement it and get back to you πŸ™‚
