BP - Gallery add-on: Profile video

  1. I would love to have the ability for my members to assisgn an uploaded video as a profile video. It could add a section to the profile edit section to upload one or have a checkbox on the videos in their video gallery to assign the video as a profile video.

    I know this would be simple for you @sbrajesh ;)

    As for positioning, maybe it could show up across from the profile pic on the right side?? Or for simplicity, just in the profile field section maybe at the top, centered above the profile fields, that would rock!

  2. That's a great idea, Reboot. I was thinking of making it auto-play the first time a visitor goes to a member's profile page e.g. "Hi there, I'm Reboot, let's boogie ..." :-)

    thanks for liking it. Seems, I am going to do it.

    How about allow the site admins to map a profile field to video(i.e say xprofile field "myvid" is mapped to video by site administrator), and then a user can copy paste the video link and it works? I am trying to achieve something like embedding single video using the page url directly in 1.1(not yet achieved though), will that be a good option ?

  4. I think mapping it to a profile field is good idea. As for the url, would you still integrate it into BP-Gallery so that the user can upload a video and then select it to be a profile vid? Where would they get the url from? Sorry just not sure I understand. I think the users should be able to upload it.

  5. I was thinking that it would be cool to also allow a member to show a certain set of pics in their profile as well, again maybe a checkbox on an album to have that album show up in the profile. I would prefer though if the pics showed as individual thumbnails instead of one thumb for the album. Click on the thumb to get a lightbox view of the pic?? would be a cool way to get personal on your profile :)

  6. Wouldn´t be nice if any picture from your album could be the profile picture? It will make so nice to choose your profile image and most powerful for bp gallery.
