bp gallery:problem with upload client

  1. Hi--thanks for the plugin which seemed to install well.

However, when trying to upload to the gallery, the upload function ques the file (picture) but then does not progress the upload at all: the status remains "uploading" and this goes on indefinitely.

I do have ht access restrictions on the sitr under development, and it prompts me for a password to access the server. All seems to be working before then, but then the upload of the queued file does not progress.

    Please could anyone assist!

    thanks

  3. hi Sam
The gallery will not be able to upload anything if you have used maintenance mode(or htaccess restriction). It is a problem. gallery is unable to authenticate when maintenance mode is active.
Try disabling maintenance mode and It will work.

    Thanks

  4. thanks very much for the prompt response. difficulty is that i do not want public access to the site and there is considerable other development on this root folder. I have had no problem with uploads in bespoke upload applications we have developed (for non-bpress community sites) despite the ht access restrictions.

Any suggestions. Is this something that will be added to BP Gallery in due course. How do other sites under development deal with this within the confines of buddy press?

    much appreciated

  5. hi Sam
I am taking a look at this. There are some issues.
Since I am doing a lot of ajax, and the files are submitted via flash uploader, I am looking for a way to authenticate and this feature will come in due course.

    Thanks
