Glad to hear that you like it at first appearances. I'll begin building an admin panel for the plugin tonight and should have it finished by the weekend. - I'm a lot slower coder than you are :) I will also figure out how to extend the shortcodes class to utilize my new templates.
For now I am going to keep the admin panel very basic allowing users to change just a few things like inputting the url to the register and lost password page. Although I am considering trying to integrate your ajax login script which would be kinda cool. I may add in a few color selectors and color scheme css switches.
On thing I could use help on, if your interested and have time for it, is trying to figure out how JJ self activates the default bbpress theme behind the scenes for any theme that does not support bbpress. That way you simply activate my files as a plugin instead of as a theme.
If you don't have time, no worries as I will continue to try and figure that out. (I think a lot of people would love to learn how to do this as its not documented anywhere)
I'll do my best to keep you updated with new releases as I finish them.

Well I got lousy news from JJ as I learned something new about WordPress today that really sucks. Turns out you can't use a plugin to 'add/append' files to the currently active theme. I completely misunderstood what the default bbpress templates were doing. Turns out they are not even used unless you manually add them to your theme.
It seems this topic has come up many times over the past few years, but for whatever reason the dev's decided to not allow this functionality for now. I created a trac ticket just in case... http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/19296
This means I am doing a bit of work with shortcodes to make this theme work as a plugin which is definitely not the route I wanted to take but have no other choice at the moment.
I hope to have a finished product in your hands shortly.
