  1. Hi Brajesh,

    This is a plugin request.

Hide activity - since every things generates activity the amount of noise is a lot. Users should have option to hide certain activities. Just like facebook.

I cannot recollect if there was already such a plugin.

    Thanks

  2. Hi GWU,
Nice suggestion. There is one already existing but that prevents recording of activity into the database.
    Here is the one.
    http://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-block-activity-stream-types/

If you did not mean removing activity, please do let me know.

  3. Yes, this is the one I looked at. It stops activity frm getting recorded.

Users should have more control to remove activity from cretain users or groups.

This is different from removing specific activity types. it should not be hiding certain activity types like - group wire, group updates, group twitter updates. Instead user should be able to block any updates from the a group (in other words block updates frm the group)

    Similar to what facebook has.

  4. Hi Gwu,
I completely agree with you on that point. The problem is bussypress activity stream is a basic implementation and lacks many things like privacy(who can see what) and also specific filtering as you have mentioned, for individual users.

Th facebook model is very different and may not be feasible for Bp to accomplish it. But I really hope, BP adds some privacy/filtering features in near future. Until then, I am not sure If we have a way to disable specific type of updates for a particular user with some efficient way(It can be done, but will be too much of burden on database server).

  5. can live with it for now.

Hopefully BP will improve. I have begun to feel that the BP community is not as active as it was a year back. either its bcoz thr r too many users ask same questions again n again or its bcoz of lack of experienced community members like u, Jeff, R-a-y, JJJ, Paul and Andy.

    Hopefully things will get going.

    thanks for your help.
