I think this woudl be a good plugin request. :) Ive tried a few already and have no luck. One worked but instead of using the facebook user name, it added a bunch of random numbers.... so no good.
is anyone using one successfully?

I'm using WP-FB-AutoConnect by Justin Klein:

It works great, creates proper buddypress accounts when users first click on "Login with Facebook".
There's a checkbox in the settings page to "Include BuddyPress Filters", which you must check. If you don't, it creates invalid usernames.
I'm using 1.3.1, the one on the site is 1.4... not sure if it makes a difference.
If anyone knows how to make it trigger the Welcome Pack plugin, feel free to share :)

I tried that one (twice actually) and both times it creates a weird number account name. like: "fb_2756357662" instead of the members name. is this what yours is doing also?Posted 1 year ago # -

I use janrain engage (formerly RPX)
That pulls the username from facebook to your buddypress/wordpress website,
You can have 6 different login types on that for free ie: facebook, myspace, twitter, yahoo, live, google for example, few require you to create the apps on your accounts ie: facebook, twitter, But it's all simple.
