I know there is plugin called BP Group reviews and i like its functionality. Is there a plugin with the same functionality although it is User/Member reviews...
This can be applied to buddypress where registered users can post reviews, give star ratings to existing members.

I am not sure if we really combine a rating+review things together for members.
I like the idea of leaving recommendation to members(let us call it review) but rating will be a completely different thing.
If you guys can wait for a week, consider it done.
I'd prefer a Karma system like Slashdot democratic moderation, or the Facebook Like button.
Comments, posts, pictures, etc. can be modded up or down, and then individual members have a Karma rating based on that cumulative positive or negative votes on their posts, comments, etc.
Thanks @sbrajesh I love the idea of recommending members, it could be used in so many ways. For a business site it would be good to recommend good clients or good people to hire. For a social/dating site it would be good for members to create a sort of "safe" community with people recommending those who they feel are good people. So many possibilities!!

and give the writer the option to edit the text after post it
and DO NOT give the owner of the profil the possibility to delete or edit the review
but...
give the site admin the rights to edit, or delete the text....

Brajesh, this will be an ultimate plugin, really going to help all of our members (whatever our niches communities are), to verify other members, once the first version is up and running, a small suggestion would be for users to be able to invite other members to write a review about them. in a similar fashion that linkedin does.

I need some feedback on the user testimonial plugin.

Installation:-
Just upload the plugin and activate. Now visit yours/other users profile.
Customization:-
If you are not using default theme or want to modify the templates, please move "testimonials" folder from bp-testimonials to your current active theme and modify it as you deem correct.
Now I need some advice on the following:-
1. who can write a testimonial? a friend or anyone and who decide it, you as site admin or the user ?(I haven't put the check for now as it is for testing purpose)
2.I am using custom post type(you can see it in the wp-admin) and specially the comments on the custom post type as testimonial. WordPress does not allow to filter the comment stream in the dashboard. So, I filtered it out using hackish way(As I believe testimonial is not a comment and should not appear the the recent comments/Comments page). How would you like it? Is it good to hide it completely from the recent comments widget/ Comments page in the backend. On improvement I was planning to include the 'testimonial type in the dropdown in the comment page(wp-admin), so you can see it and it will not pollute the comment stream, what do you think about that?
3. Do you want to allow the rating to be leaved with each testimonial?

One initial thought I have is that the user should not be able to approve or delete a testimonial that is written about them. This would defeat the purpose of a testimonial. It would give the user the ability to pick and choose the ones they like, thus nullifying the ability for people to "rate" each other. I think 'approval' should be removed entirely, but I believe admins should retain the ability to delete a testimonial just in case it's inflammatory or malicious.

2. Does not Linked in/orkut allows users to control the testimonials?
I believe you are right about this when It will be used for reviewing the user. I will put some filters to allow it in the special cases.
Brajesh, hold up. I spoke to soon. The user should be able to approve or delete the testimonial. The way you have it is the way it should be...Ignore what I previously said. Wasn't thinking clearly. Since it's a profile, the user should be able to approve of what goes on his or her profile. On linkedin you get to approve a testimonial beforehand—that's how it should work.

Brajesh create a Admin-Menu for the dashboard and the master-admin of the site can choose what a kind of testimonials like to have.
