  1. http://www.yogaconsciouschannel.com/wordpress

For some reason, I have a 'categories' widget that will not go away. It appears on new pages that I create, no matter how I set it to appear on the appearance/widgets menu (even if I set it to 'inactive'). Best example is at http://yogaconsciouschannel.com/wordpress/terms-of-use/

Also, when I log in as a non-admin user, I still get the "please add widgets to the sidebar" message on the right side of the page. The link does not allow the user to add widgets, but it looks out of place for a regular user.

Thanks for any help on this.

  2. Hi Baba,
have you edited the template files. Btw, the color combination looks nice, I could not recognize It was Bp mag :)

Please Check Global Sidebar top and Global Sidebar bottom section for the category widget, I guess, you have put it there.

btw, if you want to create single page(without sidebar, please use single column page template on the edit page, that will be much easier and bettter).

  3. Ok, I got the categories menu problem fixed, but I still have the "please add sidebar widget" on every page that doesn't have a sidebar. It seems that bp mag has a requirement to have a sidebar on every page, which seems a bit restrictive.

  4. Hi Baba,
That will be only shown to site Admins. Logout and the notice will go away. It is there to help Siteadmins . Btw, are you on 1.01/1.0.2 as older version will keep the notice.

  5. (Sorry for multiple posts, I just wanted to follow up): I think what the problem is, is that I am unable in bp mag to create a page that does not display a sidebar. For example, if I put a widget in the 'blog sidebar widget area', it displays on blog post pages, which is great - but then it also displays on EVERY page that I create, whether it's a 'post' or a 'page' (as listed on the dashboard).

Is there a way to create a 'page' in the dashboard that does not have to have ANY widgets? Perhaps there is a way to create a page template that would still include the bp mag header and footer, but not require the widget?

  6. Hi Baba,
yes, there is. While creating Page, select "Single Column Page template" from the template menu in the right (most probably below the tags/categories etc) and you will have single column page.
