    What is the purpose of the Members Directory page and is it private to the public? Can members see ALL members or only members they are friends with. I need to read documentation on this feature so I understand how to use it, do you have documentation?

    The members directory is a page where BuddyPress lists all active members(users who have registered and logged in atleast once).

    Yes, It is public. Making it private will make the profile go 404. If you want to hide members from the directory you will need custom code or plugin for the same.
