Hi there… I am using BuddyPress Xprofile Custom Field Types to add a Checkbox Acceptance field to my registration form and have successfully translated the “Description” field but seem unable to translate the field marked “Use this field to write a text that should be displayed beside the checkbox:”.

Any suggestions on how to target this? I am using the WPML plug-in but perhaps need to use gettext somehow?

With many thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Nik

    Hi Nik,
It is a bug in BP XProfile Custom Field types Plugin. I will push a release today and write back.

Brajesh… you are an absolute star!

I was wondering if I could manage to tweak the code somehow but I’m really too new to translations to make that an easy task 😉

With many thanks in advance and yes please do let me know when the update is ready.

    Warm regards
    Nik

    Hi Nik,
Thank you for the kind words.

The updated PO file is available here

    https://github.com/buddydev/bp-xprofile-custom-field-types/tree/master/languages

I will push a release on wp.org today(planning to add some more option in the plugin before release) and link you.

    Regards

    Thank you Brajesh.

I’ve downloaded and updated the .po and .mo files but when I use WPML to search for the strings I’ve manually entered for “Use this field to write a text that should be displayed beside the checkbox:” eg. “I confirm that I have read the T&C” they’re still not showing up.

Although the description for that same field DOES show up under the domain “Buddypress Multilingual”.

Again, I will admit that I’m new to translation so admittedly I may be missing something obvious.

I’ll look out for the release anyway.

    Warm regards
    Nik

    Hi Nik,
I don’t use WPML, so I am not sure how will you find it.

I hope you are able to find the string and translate.

    Regards
    Brajesh
