Tagged: Group tabs pro, Site Admin
Hello,
I’ve set the Group sub-tab to appear to the Site Admin only. I have the user-role of Site_Admin and I’m also the SuperAdmin. Group Manager will get to see this tab in the future, but it’s under construction right now.
Problem is unless I set the sub-tab to Group Manager, I can’t see the sub-tab. However, Group Managers CAN see the tab and shouldn’t right now. Maybe I didn’t set up something correctly. Here are the settings for the tab:
* Main Tab = Viewable by Group Managers – Group Managers need to continue to see the main tab and the other sub-tabs.
* Sub Tab: Manager Tools
* Is enabled = yes
* Label = Manager Tools
* Slug = wmh-tools
* Position = 100
* Site Admin Only = yes
* Enabled for: All Groups
* Visible for: Logged In – When I set this to Group Managers – they can see the tab.
* URL = blank
* CSS ID = blank
* Content = just some text as a placeholderI’ve tried different combinations for the “Visible for” option. But I should be able to see it as the Site Admin.
Here is information on my USER ROLE. I have these capabilities:
* manage_categories
* manage_events_categories
* manage_links
* manage_network
* manage_network_options
* manage_network_plugins
* manage_network_themes
* manage_network_users
* manage_options
* manage_sitesIs there a capability that I might be missing?
I appreciate a quick reply so that I can move forward towards adding Manager tools to this tab.
Blessings!

Known UniverseHi Dianne,
Thank you for the question.
Please try using the option “Site Admin Only” and se eif it hides for group admins.

BrajeshHello,
Thank you for your reply.
* When I select SITE ADMIN ONLY and Group Admins, then Group Admins see the SUB-TAB.
* When I select SITE ADMIN ONLY and deselect Group Admins, then Site Admin AND Group Admins cannot see the SUB-TAB.
(The default check box is ANYONE. It doesn’t allow all checkboxes to be blank.)In order for the Site Admin to see the SUB-TAB, they must ALSO BE a Group Admin as this the MAIN TAB is for Group Admins.
I’m thinking that Site Admin is not considered higher than Group Admin. This could be causing the problem.
What do you think?If this can’t be fixed, I may have to create a new MAIN TAB for Site Admins only, just to get things developed. So I guess there is a workaround as the Site Admin setting is not permanent for this SUB-TAB.

Known UniverseThis seems to be no longer a problem as I’m not using multi-site anymore.
I’m closing this ticket.
