Hello. Been loving, using and customizing Mediapress for a year or so now. Is there a way to add user Mediapress activity to the site-wide Buddypress activity page? I would love for the page to feel more full with the galleries everyone is creating and photos they are uploading.
Thanks.
Kristin
theawesomeladiesproject.comHi Kristin,
Thank you for using MediaPress. Please visit Dashboard->MediaPress->Settings->BuddyPress and enable automatic posting to activity for media uploads/gallery creation and it should automatically post new galleries/media to the activity.
Regards
BrajeshHi Brajesh –
Both of those checkboxes are checked, and gallery activity does post to each users’ personal activity page, but it doesn’t show up on the nice site-wide activity page that BuddyPress creates. Is there a way to put it on the site-wide activity page?
Thanks again.
Hi Kristin,
Is there a chance that the galleries are non public? e.g logged in or friends only/private etc.Since BuddyPress does not have a proper notion of privacy, we hide hide sitewide for anything except public.
Well everything on the site is non-public – it’s a membership site where all of the user profiles and BuddyPress components are considered part of the membership experience. That’s done by restricting any BuddyPress page to registered users only. That being said, the activity page itself is public and not restricted by PaidMembershipsPro or any of the other plugins we are using.
For example, without registering, if you go to theawesomeladiesproject.com/activity you will be bounced to a sign in or register page. But when registered (for free or paid membership) you can see it.
Hopefully this is enough information, and I’m happy to provide whatever else you need.
Hi Kristin,
I am sorry, I was not referring to site privacy. I was referring to the enabled Gallery statuses. Is the public status enabled for gallery?
