I can get the auto friend plugin to attach a friend when it does not have any conditions but I can’t seem to get it to work when I set a condition. I am trying to have it send a friend only to a certain profile type. We are using the standard BuddyBoss registration.
Hi Mari,
Thank you for using the plugin.can you please confirm if you are using the Profile Type profile field for creating condition?
Please let me know and our team will check and assist you.
Thank you
BrajeshYes, we have tried the Profile Type field which is renamed “Corporate Benefits” as well as the Member Type (tried both “equal to” and “in”). Even tried Role set to Contributor which is the role for our corporate members. I can’t seem to get it to work.
The best situation would be if we could set email but set it to something like, *@companyname.com, which would allow any email with that domain to work.
I feel like I must be doing something wrong as the only setting I can get to work is global but I have tried so many things!
Thanks!
Ah ha! I figured out that I had changed the name of the Profile Type but the official name was not updated. Figured that out. But now my problem is – if I create the user from the BuddyBoss registration page all works well… If I create the member through a Zap – it doesn’t work. My zap creates a user in WordPress so I think it should translate over to Buddyboss too.
Thanks!
Hi Mari,
I am closing this as resolved as you informed that you won’t be able to use this plugin. For others looking at it, The plugin needs some hook to process the request. By default, It uses BuddyPress’s activation hook.
If you are using a 3rd party plugin for adding registration, the plugin will work but you will need 2 lines of custom code to provide the plugin user id of the user being registered.
Regards
Brajesh
