Hi,
First, I’d like to thank you for your awesome work, I’m developing a buddy press based site, and your plugins have been super helpful for managing member types.
However, I’m facing a little issue I haven’t been able to solve so far.
When a user updates the profile field linked to the Member type, both the field and the type get updated. But when I update the user’s member type from the dashboard, it has no effect on the profile field. Is this the normal behaviour? Or should it update it?
I really need it to work both ways,I’m still a bit new to wordpress and I’ve trying to figure out how to do it but I can’t manage to find out how to.
Best Regards,
Carmen
Hi Carmen,
Welcome to BuddyDev.Thank you for the kind words.
The behaviour currently is normal but I understand your point. You want the field to be synced with the member type?We will ad this functionality and relese an update this week.
Thank you
BrajeshHi,
I worked on it today and I found something interesting.
When you update from Users List(bulk user list), The sync works. On Admin edit User Page, we have two places to update
1. The Membertype box in the sidebar
2. The Profile FieldWhen we update here, The field take precedence and the member type is set according to the field. So it seems to be an issue here. The solution is to either remove the member type dropdown on the Admin Edit Profile or Removing the field with member type. What do you suggest?
Hi Carmen,
I have updated the plugin now. Please upgrade to 1.0.3 and the sync will work.Hope that helps.
