BuddyPress Group Tabs Creator adds ‘/false’ to URL

    In a group with subgroups, having “added” a Group Tab that renames the /subgroup Tab (i.e. modifying the tab added by BuddyPress/BuddyBoss), setting this tab as default component, updating the tab label, with the tab enabled for All and with Tab visibility set to Do Not Modify, when navigating to the group the URL gains an additional ‘/false’ slug(?) as it otherwise correctly displays the group and its subgroups. Whilst not a major issue at this point, if the user navigates to a subgroup and then tries to go back a page via the browser’s Back button he ends up on a 404 screen as the browser tries to load the page ending in …/false’.

    Why is this happening and what is the solution?

    I am sorry but I don’t see any reason for the same.

    Please share screenshot of your configuration page as well as the page showing false in the url(screenshot of the location bar).

    Please use any free image hosting service such as (https://imgbb.com/, https://prnt.sc/ or similar).

    Hi,
    Thank you for your patience.

    There was a bug in renaming subgroups. Subgroups tab is only available on parent group and not on child. When you set the subgroups as default, the plugin misbehaves.

    I have added a specific fix for this and tested it. My team will test it in the day too to ensure we don’t miss any issue.

    Please expect a release to be available in next 12 hours.

    Hi Rajesh,

    Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to have fixed the issue.

    I updated the plugin and cleared the cache (WP Rocket) but still have exactly the same issue: Visiting the group profile for song-chains at ‘….com/groups/song-chains/’ gets me to ‘….com/groups/song-chains/false’ and visiting e.g. ‘….com/groups/song-chain-winter-23’ also gives: ‘….com/groups/song-chain-winter-23/false’.

    So I am afraid the issue isn’t resolved. 🙁

    Hi,
    I am sorry, we are unable to re-create the issue.

    Even earlier, the issue was child groups were throwing 404 if subgroups tab is made default. We fixed that in the latest.

    Do you have a staging site? Can you please try it with BuddyBoss and Group tabs only. My guess is you have some kind of redirect or other handler which is leading to /false being appended.

    If you have a staging, Please provide access and we can look into it too.
