    Hi there,

My site is a multilingual e-learning platform built using Buddyboss and Learndash that is currently deployed in English and Thai. I have just purchased the Buddypress Profanity Filter Plugin and it works very well in filtering out the specified words. However, I have an issue with this plugin; it does not seem to filter out the specified words that are in Thai. Is there anyway to achieve this?

    Thanks,
    Shyam.

    Hi Shyam,
    Welcome to BuddyDev.

Thank you for using the plugin. We do not support multilingual sites yet.

Which multilingual plugin are you using? Please let em know and i will be glad to look into it.

    Regards
    Brajesh

    Hi Brajesh,

Thanks for your reply. We’re using WPML for our site. The filtering actually works across the languages (as in english words still get filtered on the Thai site), but the issue is that Thai words aren’t filtered across the site when they’re added to the list of offensive words in the backend. I assume that somehow Thai characters aren’t being picked up by the filter?

    Regards,
    Shyam.

    Hi Shyam,
    Thank you.

Please allow us to look into it and get back to you by Monday. I am assuming that the activities are being posted in Thai and it is not simply the translation of the English activity.

    Regards
    Brajesh

    Hi Brajesh,

Just wondering if there was any update on this at all? And yes, the activities are being posted in Thai.

    Regards,
    Shyam.

    Hi Shyam,
Thank you for the patience. I am sorry for the delay in update.

I have released an update of the plugin which supports multi byte characters now.

Please upgrade to 1.1.2 and let me know if it works for you or not?

    Regards
    Brajesh

    Hi Brajesh,

I have just tested it and it still doesn’t work unfortunately! Have you got this working on your end?

    Thanks,
    Shyam.

    Hi Shyam,

I used the words from some of the Thai news sites and it worked for me.

Please share some of the sample words and a few lines to text to test the same.

    Thank you
    Brajesh
