    Hello all,

I have BuddyPress Profile Visibility Manager installed on my site but BuddyPress defaults seem to be overriding the settings.
Does anyone know how to force BuddyPress to have a profile fully visible without needing to login, so that I can have my users change their own visibility settings?

    Kind regards, Iain

    Hi Iain,
    Welcome to BuddyDev support forums.

The Profile Visibility plugin has 2 levels of privacy. Profile for whole user profile and privacy for some of the tabs.

If you are accessing a tab, Profile Visibility applies 2 levels of check:-
    1. Check for the current profile privacy
    2. Check for the current tab(if applicable)

Is there any chance that the tab setting is forcing that?

Please re-recheck the settings one more time and let me know.

    Regards
    Brajesh

    Hi Brajesh,

Thanks for this, I do think there is a conflict somewhere with User Profile Tabs Creator Pro, i changed some settings and the profile became visible once more.

I’ve also noticed that on my registration page, the basic profile fields email, name and password are not clickable, not accepting any input. Have you seen this behaviour? The fields show up on the registration page, but they are not active in any way!

    Regards,
    Iain

    Hi Iain,
    Thank you for the reply.

I am glad that issue is resolved.

I haven’t seen anything like that for registration page.
For registration page, none of our plugins(except Conditional Profile field) can cause that.

Are you using any plugin that affects the registration page? Which theme and template pack are you using?

Please let me know and I will assist.

    Regards
    Brajesh

Hi Brajesh, after much head scratching I had a thought of adjusting the z-index of the basic profile section and that did the trick. I think a ::before pseudo element was covering it up. A good thing to remember when using ::before and ::after 🙂

    Many thanks,
    Iain

    Hi Iain,
That sounds pretty tricky bug to find. I am glad you found and resolved it.

    Regards
    Brajesh
