Hi Brajesh,
We’d like to display search results for certain Xprofile Fields. For example, Maths Tutors, Physics Tutors – where Maths and Physics are custom fields.
When I select Maths or Physcis, it displays the search results in the Members Directory, but the URL doesn’t change. And I’d like to add these searches as custom links displayed in the menu.
How do I get the URLs or any Shortcodes to display these search results?
Many thanks,
JamesHi Maes,
Thank you for the question. It seems you are using the BP Profile search plugin. If that is the case, The plugin offers you a shortcode to have customized directory or different search result page.

BrajeshHi Brajesh,
We’re not using BP Profile search plugin. It’s probably BuddyPress Global Search instead (BuddyBoss Platform).
Best regards,
JamesHi James,
Thank you for letting me know.I will suggest contacting BuddyBoss support as we do not offer any support for BuddyBoss’s product here.
We do provide support for our plugin’s compatibility with them.Regards
BrajeshHi Brajesh,
My query relates to BuddyPress Xprofile Custom Field Types.
We have created different profile fields using this plugin, and would like to get ‘search query URL string’ for different option – so that we can create footer menu links and direct users to each search string separately. For example, Maths Tutors, Physics Tutors etc.
Thanks,
JamesHi James,
The search functionality is not offered by Xprofile Custom Field Types plugin. It is offered by the BuddyBoss platform and is same for the native fields/custom fields. If you are able to use the link for native fields(such as Web etc), you can apply the same for custom field types.
Regards
Brajesh
