[Resolved] Force Profile Competition Breaks BuddyBoss + MemberPress

    I’m using BuddyBoss + MemberPress and tryng to force new signups to complete their profile before getting acess to the community. I installed “BuddyPress Profile Completion” and I discovered that it breaks the member profile in BuddyPress by…
    – dropping last name from the profile
    – plugging the nickname into the first name field
    – reordering the fields on the profile screen

    And it breaks Memberpress by
    – not completing the transaction/subscription step and thus not auto-allowing the person to access the BB community until an admin manually enters the membership transaction.

    Hi,
    Thank you for posting.

    I am not aware how the MemberPress registration works but I can understand the issue.

    I am guessing that either MemberPress or BuddyBoss is syncing the name/username from MemberPress to BuddyBoss profile field. That action is being blocked by this plugin(It is redirecting before that action is run).

    You will need to ask BuddyBoss/MemberPress for which action they are using to sync profile data. I can lower our priority to make sure we do not redirect before that. Of if they can provide me some code for fetching the memberpress registration/action page, I can skip it in the plugin.

    The plugin works properly with BuddyBoss. You can verify that by registering via BuddyBoss registration page.

    FYI, I switched to Paid Membership Pro instead of MemberPress and it worked better. So whatever the differences are between the two, might help you debug.

    Hi JW520,
    Thank you for the update.

    Since MemberPress is a pro plugin and we don’t have access sot their current version, we are unable to do anything about it currently.

    I am glad it is resolved with PMPro. If it was not, we could certainly look into it as it is freely available.
