    Hello,

I have wordpress 6.5.5 and Mediapress Version 1.5.9.

I have set the settings for maximum Upload space to 5mb each, and to show the remaiming quota. Today I noticed that it lets me upload a lot more than the set 5mb. I tested it and was able to upload a total of 14.5mb, before it said I have used up the alloted storage space. When I uploaded about 7mb, it said I was 42% full.

    Can you help?

    Hi Stephanie,
    Hope you are doing well.

I am sorry, we were mostly off last week and could not assist you with it.

    1. Are you uploading as site admin?
    2. is there any caching plugin active?
    3. Is it a multisite setup or a normal WordPress site.

Please share the details and I will look into it.

    Regards
    Brajesh

    Hello Brajesh

Hope you had a good break.

    To answer your questions:
    1. I am uploading as a test user, not an admin, since the whole purpose is to let users sign up and use the site.
    2. Yes, I have a caching plugin active, I use LiteSpeed Cache.
    3. It is a normal wordpress site but I did add a subdomain to my site. Mediapress is installed on the main domain.

Here is a screenshot to show you what I see when I upload files as a front end test user: https://prnt.sc/6nmUKVsh5bj-

Also here are some more details:
I have deactivated most plugins not specifically designed for buddypress*. The only non-buddypress plugins I have kept activated are Elementor, Woocommerce plugins, Code Snippets and LiteSpeed Cache.

*I have another issue in that Mediapress is conflicting with another plugin (I am not quite sure which one yet but it is among the deactivated ones for this test) and it doesn’t let me upload files to the gallery (a red error appears next to the names of files I tried to upload and says there is a HTTPS error or something), shows a gallery with no thumbnail (only displays the default Mediapress thumbnail) and causes a critical error when I try to delete the gallery. I will open a separate thread for that if I can’t resolve it myself, but thought I’d mention what happens when I have third party plugins activated and when I don’t.

    Thank you

    Hi Stephanie ,
    Thank you for the reply.
I am sorry for missing your earlier reply. I haven’t been able to check it.

    1. I will check and update you with the solution for storage issue over the weekend.

    2. For the gallery upload issue, Please look into the browser console and let me know if there is any error. If not, Please look into browser’s network panel and let me know the response.

If you are not comfortable with browser console, Please link me to the site with a guest user account(normal user) and I will check and assist.

    Regards
    Brajesh

    Hello Brajesh,

I would like to provide you with a log in because even though I can access the browser console, I would not be able to tell which error is meaningful in my situation.

In order to give you an account, I need an email address for you. Could you send me a private reply with an email address so I can give that one an account? And what do you mean by “normal user” – do you mean as a front end user, or as an administrator?

    Thank you
    Stephanie
