Hi,
I have created multisite wordpress website. Also entered wildcardDNS records [*.domain.com]. Everything is working fine. But the issue is every time when I create a domain from wordpress backend it’s not working. I need to create the subdomain in c-pannel then I have to create in wordpress backend then only it’s working. Can you tell me is it possible to create subdomain directly from wordpress back end with out reaching to c-pannel subdomain section.Thank You….
Hi Madhvi,
you have an issue with the wildcard DNS. Please contact your hosting provide and they will be able to assist. The wildcard dns is not working for you.Regards
BrajeshHi Madhavi,
No, there is no available way to automate it from WP Admin to Cpanel. It is possible to do so with the CPanel APi
https://documentation.cpanel.net/display/DD/Guide+to+cPanel+API+2
https://documentation.cpanel.net/display/DD/cPanel+API+2+Functions+-+SubDomain%3A%3AaddsubdomainThe time and effort does not justify it as it is a problem with hosting and putting temporary fix is not the right way to handle it.

BrajeshSir,
Thank so much for the reply My hosting is from godaddy they are unable to help me out. As per my knowledge I have created *.domain.com in subdomain session in cpanel. when ever I am creating a subdomain in wordpress it’s not working untill and unless I manually create in c-panel. It’s forcing me to create subdomain first in cpanel then I am able to create subdomain in wordpress. Is this is the right way or I can create through wordpress directly as wildcardDNS is set as *.domain.com
Hi Madhavi,
The first thing I will suggest is check if your hosting supports wildcard DNS Queries. Not all godaddy hosting support it.
https://in.godaddy.com/help/set-up-wildcard-dns-3301
From this article, you should be able to check what kind of account you have and whether it support the wildcard.
Most probably, the hosting does not support it and you might need to upgrade from them.
Please check and let me know what you find there.
Regards
Brajesh
