In BP plugins like “Who’s online”, “BuddyPress Members” and “Recently Active Members” there are no option for setting gender.
If you are on a social meeting site, you do not want to see men, if you are searching for a woman.

In the register site new members define their sex.
How do I exclude members of the profiles own sex, from showing in these plugins?

    Regards

    Hi Carsten,
    Thank you for posting.

At the moment there is no standard way to know a user’s gender and that’s why there are no specified ways.

For a developer, It is easy to accomplish.

If I had to do something for this, I will create member types for gender and use that to filter the things.

How are you using gender on your site?

Hi Brajesh, by registering the subscribers already defined their gender in a field created in the user profile.

Please post the values for “Male” and the “Female” and also the field name/id( I need to fetch the value for logged in user).

We can make it work by using xprpofile_query. It won’t be as efficient as the member type though.

    Thank you
    Brajesh
