Hi BuddyDev Team!
Thanks so much for reading these notes and congratulations again and again on all you are doing with BuddyDev – it’s amazing how many things you’ve made!
We are using the SnapOrbital “Notes for LearnDash” which we set up years ago before the official LearnDash “Notes” add-on. The “Notes for LearnDash” plugin has a shortcode [learndash_my_notes] which we placed inside of a “My Notes” Profile tab we created. That shortcode has pagination settings for students to view “Older Notes” by going to /members/MEMBER-NAME/my-notes/page/2/ but we get a 404 Error when attempting that.
Here is a screen recording of that happening in real-time: https://share.zight.com/Jru9jvyL
Do you know if it is impossible to do pagination inside a custom profile tab? If it is not possible right now, could it be possible with some custom code/in the future somehow, or is it a fixed limitation that would not be possible at all?
Thank you for any reply as able, and I am sending this note realizing our Membership/Subscription to the plugin (and thus your support) has expired, so just know I’d be glad to renew it if necessary to even answer this question. We don’t usually have too many needs but I sincerely would be glad to continue supporting your work as this does appear to be a need we have.
Thank you so much again, Brajesh, and I hope you are doing well! 🙂
I realized it might be helpful to include a screenshot of my Profile Tab so you can see if I happened to set it up right (with the Sub Nav) or if I made a blooper anywhere with this. Also, I created a temporary page with the shortcode to demonstrate that the pagination works in a normal WordPress page but just not (at the moment) in the Custom Profile Tab as I have it set up. Here is a link to the screenshot: https://share.zight.com/nOuyzWBq
Thanks again for any help, direction or insight you might be able to give on this! I tried solving with ChatGPT but was unable to get there. Thank you again!
Hi Caleb,
Welcome back.By default, BuddyPress/BuddyBoss will limit screens that we handle. When you create a tab, It handles the specific tab/sub tab screen but any slug after that will cause 404.
Is there a possibility to enabled pagination via query var for the notes plugin(e.g ?page=2)? that would solve the issue immediately.
Regards
BrajeshHi Brajesh!
Thanks for your kind, helpful and quick reply! This is just what I needed. 🙂
I’ve written to the team at SnapOrbital to see if this might be possible. We’ll see what they say.
Thank you again for taking the time to even send me on the right direction – I bet this might work if they are able!
Will keep you posted if I run into a wall, and hopefully I’ll remember to update you if it works, but for now, I really appreciate your time.
Thank you again, Brajesh!
