[Resolved] Placeholder image for Videos is always blury

    Hi everyone,

    We changed a default placeholder image for Video items in our Gallery, but whatever we do preview is always blurry.

    We tried with several different sizes of images (i.e. 1200x680px, .png format) which looks nice and clean and it looks good when published as image. But inside video preview it is blurry.

    Is there some other size, resolution or format that we should use to make this optimal?

    Also we would like to have this custom image to be applied automatically (on activity publish), instead of changing it for each item. Is this possible? (note: we already opened a different ticket for this – https://buddydev.com/support/forums/topic/changing-default-preview-image-for-videos-and-documents/

    Thank you in advance! MediaPress is great plugin and we enjoy it, but this item is a core functionality for us (to have a custom placeholder which is clearly visible).

    Hi Milan,
    The size will depend on your current media size. can you please tell me your thumbnail and large size setting for the media?

    Hi Brajesh,

    I have checked my /wp-admin/options-media.php settings.

    Thumbnail 150×150 (max sizes)
    Medium size 300×300 (max sizes)
    Large size 1024×1024 (max sizes)

    Please check it in the MediaPress->settings under general tab.

    Hi Brajesh,

    I have managed to solve this issue by trying several different media settings.
    One of them provided a look and feel that is good for us (not blurry and very nice).

    We can consider this ticket closed.
    Thank you for your help, idea with Media Settings was a trigger for a solution.
