Hi there, in the documentation a Slider field type is listed, but I’m not able to find the Slider field type in BuddyPress Custom Xprofile Fields, I’m using version 1.2.0?

https://imgur.com/yWXYf1kA question to the Min Max Xprofile field versus the From/To Value field, and which one to use for age search.
Until now I have been using the From/To Value field, but I’m thinking of using the Min Max Xprofile field instead.
But in BP Search the age range is not an option for the Min Max Xprofile field in the search mode. So is the From/To field still the only option for age range search or can I use Max Xprofile field?
Regards
CarstenHi Carsten,
Sorry for the confusion. The “Range” field is called slider. The Min Max as well as From/to field is not suitable for search. If you are planning for age, Please use age or Date field instead.
If you want to numeric field, the min max is suitable. Min Max field is a number whose value falls between 2 values. That’s why BP profile search does not consider it as age rage.

BrajeshHi Brajesh, thanks for the clarification, for some reason the From/To value field offers
age range in the Search Mode?Isn’t problem with using age or Date field instead, that it is not possible to search within an age range?
Regards
CarstenHi Carsten,
I am sorry, I do not know why is that happening but the field is not for date. May be some conflict/issue with profile search. I will need a week to check the profile search plugin.I haven’t checked recently but I believe the age range search was available with Date/Age field.

BrajeshHi Carsten,
Thank you for the detail. The problem with From/to field is it will not automatically updated each passing year.Date field is core field in BuddyPress and I am referring to Birthday field(where the option is to show as Age) for age.
Regards
BrajeshHi Brajesh, you wrote that the problem with From/to field is it will not automatically updated each passing year.
I’m not sure I understand the problem. The Age Range search is performed from the members actual age which they set in the Birthdate field and which of course is updated each passing year?
Regards
Carsten
