When viewing a gallery, it would be great if photos could be tagged using the @ feature built into BuddyPress. For example, if I upload an image that contains another member on my site. When someone is viewing that image, have a section either in the description area or at the top of the info window, that shows the tagged users and when clicked, takes you to the users profile page. When a user is tagged, the system should send that user a notification. It would be a great way to add connectivity between MediaPress and BuddyPress.

An older system I used to use, it was setup so when you upload a photo, you could draw a box around the users head or body, a box would appear that you could enter a name and if that person was registered on the site, it would let you click and tag that user in the photo. When viewed, if you moused over the face, it would tell you the persons name and if clicked, would take you to their profile. Really, any type of tagging system would be better than not having anything at all.
