[Resolved] Unmarking “Use this field in the site registration form” option not working

    Hi there, I has an issue with the “Use this field in the site registration form” profile field option, unmarking this has no effect, the field is still visible in the registration form.

    Any idea why this option should not work?

    Hi Carsten,
    Thank you for the question.

    I will suggest switching theme and disabling bp-custom.php to check it. It is probably caused by one of these two.

    Hi Brajesh, thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately none of them worked on my site.

    Instead I think I will use this code snippet to hide fields on register page:

    Thank you for the reply. I personally prefer troubleshooting to understand the root issue. I still understand the time concerns and I am happy that the others solution is working for you.

    Hi Brajesh, thanks, I agree.
    For your information I found the root of the issue which turned up to be rather banal; my mistake, I was not aware of the “Signup Fields” profile field group where all the unwanted profile fields can be deleted.
    This apparently overrules the “Use this field in the site registration form” option for each profile field.
