Hi there, hope you all are well
I’m using a modal register where only a username and an email is required for registering.
For filling out the additional required BP fields I’m using BuddyPress Profile Completion.
The problem is that there is no option for choosing member type when filling out these additional required BP fields, because the member type is already predefined for the user, given by the first member type in the Single Member Type Select field.
So if I have two member types like Student and Teacher, Student member type is given to all users.
Is this a bug in BuddyPress Profile Completion?
Regards
CarstenHi Carsten,
Thank you for the question.1. How is the member type auto assigned? BuddyPress does not have this ability. Are you using some custom code.
2. Even if it is auto assigned, you can mark the member type field as available too all member type/non member type and it will be available for editing.Regards
BrajeshHi Brajesh, thanks for your reply.
What I mend was that even if the default value has been set to None, the first member type listed, here ‘mand’ is selected as default.
I have set the field to be non editable ‘Do not allow a user to change this field’.
I was thinking that maybe a non editable field does not work with Profile Completion, but with the Birth Date Selector it does work, so could it be an issue with the Single Member Type field not working with the Profile Completion?

CarstenHi Carsten,
Thank you for the details.I do not think the field type has anything to do with profile completion.
The 2nd screenshot shows the value from Profile field list. Can you please visit the Profile->Edit page and tell me if that shows the member type as selected?
Thank you
BrajeshHi Brajesh, thanks for looking into this.
“Can you please visit the Profile->Edit page and tell me if that shows the member type as selected?”
Yes it does, even if the default value has been set to None and updated. When returning to the group of fields, it has changed to the “mand” value which is then registered by default.

CarstenHi Carsten,
Do you have any custom code or plugin which assignes member types on registration? I am not able to find any reason for the same. Will be trying to re-create it in the day and report.
Regards
Brajesh
