Hi Brajesh,
I’m sorry if I have asked you this before. I want to assign authorship of some pages to users and I can’t work out how to do it in WordPress. Do you know how I can do that?
The reason is that some of my Users have previously written articles for my sites. I’m migrating the pages to WordPress and I want to give them the credit (because their Author Bio will show up on the page).
Many thanks,
MikeHi Mike,
No issues. If you are using classic editor, you can enable it from screen options as shown here

and

Hope that helps.

BrajeshOhhhh… yes it does help…
Seems I have to make them an author for them to be in the dropdown?
I was the only author in the site, as admin.
I didn’t want them to be authors. That means they can make new pages, right? So they would access the wp dashboard.
I will have to see if there is a way to put them in the dropdown but without them being an author perhaps. Maybe User Role Editor can help with it.
Thanks. It was a kindof dumb question but in my old system I could make them a page ‘author’, or ‘owner’ it didn’t mean they could edit anything 🙂
Hi Mike,
You can mark a user as “Contibutor” and they will appear to. They won’t be able to do much.Regards
Brajesh
