    How can I have the bp-login-redirect plugin redirect to the homepage instead of the profile page?

      Thanks for the comment. You need to edit one line there in the plugin.
      Change line number 35 from

      return bp_core_get_user_domain($user->ID )
      to
      return bp_get_root_domain()
