@sbrajesh i have a few questins regarding the bp simple front end post editor.
1. does this save the posts in a separate bp database on in the same database as wordpress? our site has wp and bp.
2. does this allow admins to create a few different posts types like update, image, articles, videos (like tumblr), with some custom fields and make it available to bp members to start sharing? we dont want members to have the ability to create forms, just have front end access.
3. is this similar to this beta product: http://themekraft.com/buddyforms-first-beta-available/
4.
HI Jmc,
Thank you for asking.
1. Yes, It saves the the posts in same database as BuddyPress/WordPress
2. I haven’t added any ui for admin. So, No. I use it mainly to provide post creation/editing facility for 4-5 of my plugins. The plugin provides api to create as many instances of forms as you want but there is no admin Ui at the moment. Yes, the plugin can be used with multiple post types
3. Almost yes. They have a better admin panel (seems so at the moment) but I have got better/flexible API/ and Editing capability. In future I hope, I will add the admin UI and they will add better APi, so these two will be same some day.
1. so the plugin does not save updates n the bp “activity” feed ? but rather in the wp database? i was hoping it saves it in the bp activity feed with permalink available.
2.Can it add a post option to a bp status update like this one? http://awesomescreenshot.com/0f01g2ll1b so next to the image, link and video, we could add a few more options like “article” “recipe”, etc. — can we add custom fields to theselike for a article we’d need a title box, and and light editor options like bold, italics, ?
3. when will you give admin panel option, can you do it soon 🙂
