Hi All! I’ve come here seeking knowledge of the idiosyncrasies of MediaPress. I like the program, but it sometimes misbehaves for me.

The problem I’m having now involves the sitewide gallery display. I have experienced two different failure modes during the day.

Sometimes I see “There are no galleries available!” At the same time, galleries display correctly in the Profile view. Other times the sitewide gallery page will not load at all. The browser says “Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.”

There seems to be a problem with the slug “gallery.” If I replace the Galleries page with one called “photos,” the page loads OK again, but “There are no galleries available!” displays.

I’ve deleted the cache and reinitialized the Permalinks dozens of times with no success. The strange part is, a few days ago everything worked well. My guess is some change I made in another plugin (BP?) caused this problem, but I have no idea how to restore proper behavior.

Considerable improvement was seen when I unselected Mediapress>>Settings>>Buddypress>>Enable gallery directory. It seems the conflict was not with another plugin, but within Mediapress itself. Now the problem is much smaller.

Three galleries now appear in the sitewide display. The problem with this is, there are five galleries. All are published. All appear in the Profile view. One missing gallery is owned by another user. One missing gallery is owned by me. I’m going to devote time today to trying to correct this. If you can help me with this, I will be in your debt. Thanks.
