    Hi!

    I am testing the ‘BP Member Type Generator’ plugin and observed the following.

    1 – I have some ‘required fields’ (these are necessary to be required) but these fields apply only to specific member type(s). Using ‘Conditional Profile Fields for BuddyPress’, I have kept irrelevant fields hidden. Now these REQUIRED but HIDDEN fields are throwing the following error on form submission – “Please make sure you fill in all required fields in this profile field group before saving.”

    2 – Instead of per field can ‘Conditional Profile Fields for BuddyPress’ work per field group? So for each member type there can be a dedicated field group. And, irrelevant groups can be kept hidden.

    3 – ‘Conditional Profile Fields for BuddyPress’ is not working for ‘Multi Select Box’. I have double checked. There might be other type of fields that may not be working with the plugin.

    3 – Do lots of plugins slow down a website? I wish there was 1 plugin for the following 4.

    a – BP Member Type Generator
    b – Xprofile Member Type Field
    c – Conditional Profile Fields for BuddyPress
    d – BuddyPress Non Editable Profile Fields

    I will add more to this thread if I notice anything else.

    Hi Lavish,
    Thank you for posting.

    1. It is how BuddyPress Works. It needs all the fields on registration to work. I can override the behavior but that will make the things complex.

    2. I am thinking of that too. Seems easy(except that hiding the first group will be some trouble)

    3. Please give me till 6th July to test/update this plugin.

    3. No, Those are very very light weight plugins. Bloated/badly written plugins slows down the site. At BuddyDev, I can guarantee that we take it very seriously. There are some(1-2) plugins that consume memory/db calls, we have it mentioned on plugin page.

    @sbrajesh did you get sometime to check and fix the plugin? I seek the fix to the following problem.

    Hi Lavis,
    I am sorry about the delay. Though I want to update it, I am stuck with a project of mine. Since both the above plugins are written by me, @ravisharma is not updating them at the moment.

    I will need a few days(atleast till Thursday) to complete my other project and then dedicate time on this.

    Can you help me with a temporary fix until there comes an update?

    The recap :

    Let me rephrase the issue :

    If there is a multi select box field that I want to hide based on a previous choice by the users, the multi select box doesn’t go away.
