Default Profile Visibility “Only Me” – existing users or new only?

    Hi, I’ve just purchased and installed BuddyPress Profile Visibility Manager (v2.0.3) on a BuddyBoss Platform site with around 20,000 existing member accounts.

    The reason I purchased it: your BuddyBoss integration page states that setting a default visibility level “applies immediately to new registrations and can also be applied to existing members in bulk.” That bulk-apply capability was the main reason for buying the plugin.

    However, after installing it, I can’t find that option anywhere. Under Settings > BP Profile Visibility Settings, across all three tabs (General, Default, BuddyBoss), I only see settings described as defaults “for new user accounts.” I also checked the WordPress Users page’s bulk actions – no related option there either.

    My question: is there a bulk-apply feature I’m missing, or does the default only affect new registrations? If existing profiles need a different method, please can you point me to it? I need this confirmed before relying on it for real member data.

    Thank you for purchasing from us.
    I am sorry, we don’t have bulk apply feature. BuddyBoss team might have added it by mistake on their site/listing. We do not mention bulk apply on our plugin page https://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-profile-visibility-manager/

    There is a partial solution that may be useful for your use. If you set default privacy to “Only me”, It will apply to profile visit for any user who were registered earlier but have not updated their privacy(used as a fallback), e.g. No one can see their profile except themselves and admin.

    The default will not hide the existing users form members directory/search though.

    Please let me know if this will work for you or not?
