[Resolved] BP Profile Visibility Manager: plugin is creating "protected" tab in profiles

    Hi there,

    Just bought your plugin. It is creating a “protected” tab that is visible to each user within their profiles, regardless of whether they have selected to protect their profiles. When clicked the tab opens a page that says “PROTECTED This profile is protected.” Which is of course not necessarily the case.

    I am using Buddyboss Boss 2.0 theme.

    Please advise.

    Hi Andy,
    Welcome to BuddyDev.
    It is the global preference ticking in.

    Please visit Dashboard->Settings->Bp Profile Visibility Settings

    1. Please make sure that “Everyone” is selected as the default privacy
    2. Also, There is an option whether to redirect or show protected on the profile. Please use the appropriate method there.

    Hi Brajesh,

    Thanks for your reply. I have set the preferences as you suggest and the ‘protected’ tab is still present as a navigation tab in every member’s profile. Even though these profiles are not set to protected either by default or in each member’s profile settings. Also the plugin’s mode is set to redirect.

    I am sure this is not the intended behavior of your plugin?

    I am sorry.
    yes, That is not the expected behaviour. We added optional protected page in last week’s update.

    Please allow me to check and push a fix soon.

    Sounds good, Brajesh. Let me know if I can provide any further info to assist with developing the fix. It would be great if this thread could be updated when that fix is available, so I’ll know to patch it.

    If you are using BuddyDev dashboard, the automatic upgrades should e available.
