    Hi Brajesh,

With the awesome level of support you offer around here I figured this was the best place to propose this.

BuddyPress needs a way to make it simple for members to post to the site. Similar to hootsuite or buffer that work for twitter and facebook. both of those have bookmarklets. I have both of them in my bookmark bar here in chrome right now.

Plugin author imath made one, but he has had to abandon it. It works decently, but could use some fixes and he is asking people to take it over:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-bookmarklet/

    Here is him asking:
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/important-ill-soon-stop-this-plugin-support-6/

    Here is the github:
    https://github.com/imath/bp-bookmarklet

This might be an awesome fit for you to have that plugin, and for its users to get support.

Just a thought, but I really want a good bookmarklet.

    Hi Gregg,
    Thank you for posting.

The plugin looks interesting. Can you please list the enhancements you are looking to it?

We need to see if we can manage it in our current schedule.

    Thank you
    Brajesh

The major change would be the interface for getting the Bookmarklet. Right now the settings page for it, on your profile, shows you 2 buttons. It says to drag the one on the left to your bookmark bar. That doesnt work for me. I’m ok with that. But the other button shows/hides a box of javascript code and explains how to add the bookmark.

That button is something users don’t know the click or what it does. So hiding it behind the button isn’t a good idea in my opinion. I would want the instructions and javascript to just be there without having a button to show/hide them.

I also think the instructions should be editable in an admin interface.

Thats all I can think of right now. But that would make it a lot more useful.

    Thank you.
I guess I will fork on github and push an update there. it may not be desired behaviour for the olriginal plugin but we can maintain our fork.

I will update you again after the changes.

    Regards
    Brajesh

    Hey Brajesh,

Working through my sites features, and remembered this thread. Just reaching out to see if any progress happened on this one. No worries if not, but it would be awesome to have this.

    Hi Gregg,
    Hope you are doing well.

Please download the updated plugin from here
    https://github.com/buddydev/bp-bookmarklet

    Or the direct link

    https://github.com/buddydev/bp-bookmarklet/archive/master.zip

It removes the toggler and makes the instructions visible all the time.

For changing the instruction, please use translation. In future, I will be happy to add admin option for the same.

    Hope it helps.

    Regards
    Brajesh
