Hi
I use BuddyPress Create Group Type plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-create-group-type/) to cretae group types. It works ok, but with Community Builder theme I can’t see all group types on the group index page. If I change to the TwentyNineteen theme it works.
Any solutions?
Thanks
TorbenHi Torben,
Please allow me to check and get back to you. Group Types should work(with/without the plugin). Community Builder supports them out of the box.I will get back to you today after testing this plugin.

BrajeshSounds great Brajesh
Maybe it is better not to use that plugin, but how do I then create group types?
Are there a better way to do it? And do you now if it’s possible to sort the types alphabetical in front end? Thanks
Hi Torben,
Just checked with Community Builder now.Is it about groups directory page? If yes, Is you Display as a tab is checked for the group type while creating it?
It seems to be working for me.

BrajeshHi Brajesh
Yes, it is the group directory page. I have marked the field “Display as a tab” for all my 14 group types, but on the directory page I can only see 6 group types on desktop and 1 on mobile. There are no dropdown menu to choose the other group types. If I choose all groups then I can see groups belonging to group types I can’t see in the group directory header.
You can see how it looks at my desktop:

Best regards
TorbenHi again
I just tried to maximize the desktop and then I can see all the group types as shown here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0zatiq0aroextx9/Screenshot%202019-06-17%20at%2008.58.39.png?dl=0But it’s not a normal screen size to use, so it’s not usable in real lfe I guess. And on mobile you can’t maximize 🙂

It also seems that the BP function bp_groups_get_group_types doesn’t have a sorting feature, so how do I force the Group Types to order by name?
Hi Torben,
It is the same issue as in
https://buddydev.com/support/forums/topic/main-menu-only-visible-on-front-page-on-mobile/#post-23561We use an icon to denote the extra menu items in dropdown. Since the font awesome is not loading, you are not seeing that icon and it is giving the impression that extra items are not there.
Please check.
Regards
BrajeshPerfect. Now I can see all the group types 🙂
Do you have a solution for sorting the group types in another way than created date?
And how do I close the scroll down menu when clicking the hamburger menu? It keeps being open even after I select a group type. It only closes if I change the sorting of the groups.
Best regards
TorbenHi again
I know this is an old threadm but after upgrading to the new theme my BuddyPress Groups directory doesn’t work as intended. In order to organize my groups I use the free plugin BuddyPress Create Group Type plugin to create group types, but after the theme update I can only see the first line of group tabs, and there are no dropdown visible to choose extra items.
But if I hover the mouse left to the group search icon I can click on a visible icon that expands a dropdown! You wrote some times that the reason I couldn’t see this dropdown icon was due to the fact that I didn’t enabled the Fontawesome asset loading in the customizer. I have this enabled now but still no icon!
I would also like to style the dropdown so it looks like the visible group menu items.
You can see the two issues (missing icon and lack of styling) in this screenshot:
