Not sure if this was because we are on multisite or if there is an issue. Basically, we have just bought a pro subscription and now are concerned that the first thing we tried has caused an issue. Is there any way to contact support directly?

is there any chance you are using Youzer? We have only seen conflict with Youzer/Youzify profile completion plugin.
The plugin will not throw error even if BuddyPress disabled. If possible, Please share the error log.
