I have staging site setup to test buddypress with various plugins. for media, i’ve tested with bp-attachments, which seems to work ok but also want to evaluate mediapress. In buddypress settings there is a Gallery section that I currently have set as follows:
Directory title: MembersGallery
Directory slug: membersgallery
Directory permalink : https://tedm3.sg-host.com/BzStage-1009When I try to view the gallery I’m simply redirected to the homepage.
When I copy the “View” link all I get is the directory permalink: https://tedm3.sg-host.com/BzStage-1009What do I need to do to get the membersgallery slug to work?
Hi Brent,
Thank you for using MediaPress.
It seems to be a bug in BuddyPress. Please install BP classic.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-classic/and activate it. Visit Dashboard->Settings->BuddyPress->pages and save it.
After that, the gallery directory should start working.
Please let me know if that works or not?

BrajeshThanks, that worked, though I fail to understand why bp-attachments worked fine in this regard and mediapress did not.
A question about functionality of said gallery. I was expecting to be able to add a gallery from the membersgallery page didn’t see the ability to do that. Are the galleries that are shown derived from each member’s public galleries alone?
Hi Brent,
Thank you.The user can create gallery from their profile or group(if enabled). Those galleries swill be listed.
As of BP Attachment, It’s a new addon and is compatible with the newly included custom parser URI rewrite rules for BuddyPress. MediaPress uses the old API(pre 12.0 and that’s why it needs BP classic).

BrajeshSo I’m now trying to get sitewide galleries going.
In General Settings:
Enable Galleries for Sitewide Gallerys is checked on.In Sitewide Gallery Settings:
Enable Gallery Archive is checked Yes
Gallery Archive Slug is left to default of site-galleries
Gallery permalink Slug is left to default of site-gallery
Enabled Media/Gallery Types is set to select allI try accessing the page https://tedm3.sg-host.com/BzStage-1009/site-galleries
and get back : Oops! That page can’t be found. So what now.
Guess I’m not understanding the context for sitewide gallery. I am now able to get page to display all galleries that have been created by members on their respective profiles and within groups. Is that the limit of what is posible?
Hi Brent,
MediaPress supports sitewide gallery. The setup is a bit complex. You can setup shortcodes to allow creation/view/edit/manage galleries(by user).
I will look into it and post more details on Tuesday.

BrajeshHi Brent,
Thank you fro your patience.1. In the Dashboard->MediaPress->Settings, enable the Sitewide gallery and configure it as needed.
2. Create a page and put the shortcode shown in the screenshot
https://i.ibb.co/6mkkvVc/Selection-363.pngThe shortcode will allow users to create sitewide galleries. These galleries are only editable/uploadable by the user who created it.
Regards
Brajesh
