BuddyPress Group Tabs Creator Pro – any chance of this?

    @sbrajesh – Hi Brajesh have been using a plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-extend-groups-fields/ on a site (see it work here http://clan.international/groups/macewen/) – it unfortunately does not support advanced custom taxo or post fields like your extend BP Xprofile custom fields does – but it works ok

    How much work would be involved adding this plugins capability (as it works well) to incorporate this into your existing tabs plugin butt adding support for taxonomies and custom posts as you do in BuddyPress Xprofile Custom Field Types?

    Personally i see a huge need for such capability within buddypress groups as there does not exist a unified plugin that can provide

    1. Buddypress Groups add extra tabs containing
    2. text fields/textarea plus custom post selectors / image fields / custom taxonomy selectors
    3. and presents it on front end easily

    Plugins that exist that perform some of the above but none of them provide a one stop capability

    How difficult would this be – and if so would it be worth you doing such a plugin? if not how much would it cost?

    Hi Greg,
    Thank you for the topic.

    I have considered it multiple times but avoided due to uncertainty around having xprofile like fields for group in BuddyPress core.

    As I believe, We can re-state the problem as:-

    1. BuddyPress site owners need to create custom tabs for groups
    2. A custom tab can have a form which takes input from group admin and display it to others.

    Is that the correct assumption? If yes, we need some kind of form builder. Also, if the admin wants the data to be searchable, that will create another issue(How do you make the data searchable with a variable schema?)

    If it is for display only, It can certainly be created. We lack the time to do it currently but we will gladly consider it in future.
