Buddypress Hashtag plugin

    Hello,

    I would like to ask if you can consider creating a hashtag plugin for buddypress

    Feature suggestions below
    1. shortcode to display all trending hashtags in a page
    2. hashtag support in custom post types like jobs, events, etc
    3. abilty to view trending hashtag across all custom post types

    Hi Tosin,
    Thank you for the suggestions.

    We are releasing hashtag plugin as part of our Activity suite coming in next couple of weeks. We will only be supporting activity for now.

    Implementing a time bound trending is part of the goal(none of the plugins seem to provide time bound trending) but we are most probably skipping it for the first release.

    Hi Tosin,
    We have got it working as part of our upcoming activity enhancement module.

    We do not plan to release it as an individual plugin. It will be available when we are releasing our upcoming theme. The goal is to have maximum compatibility with our upcoming 2 themes with all of our extra offering for activity in a single plugin.

    It can be used with other themes too but that is not our priority for now.

    Hi Mike,
    Thank you for the question.

    We have completed the design and basic it is being converted to html/css right now. I am expecting at least 12 -16 weeks.

    The goal is to bring functionalities comparable with the BuddyBoss platform to BuddyPress as well as our theme.

    Any updates on this? Hashtag functions can be a game changer.

    Hi Mike,
    I am sorry, all of our plans got derailed in last 10 months due to my problem with my eye. I am almost back to work properly and we are resetting the old plans.

    I am hoping that we will be able to have the activity suite sometimes this year and a lot more. I am looking forward to a lot more activity and release in near future.
