    Hi. I want to buy the Buddypress Profanity Filter, but before I need to know if it works for the profile user fields. I need a profanity filter for the info the user inputs on their profile (user fields).

    Would this plugin work for that? Or is it just for activity, messages and comments?

    Hi Fmd530,
    Thank you for the question and your interest in the plugin.

    Yes, it does filter on the profile field data.

    Please do note that it uses regular expression for the filter and if you need a large list of profanity words, this plugin will have impact on the site performance. We recommend avoiding it in that case.

    Hi Brajesh. Thanks for the quick response.

    I am planning on banning 20-30 words max, no more than that. Would that have an impact on performance?

    I do NOT want to filter private messages, so I’ll leave that one as is.

    Hello,

    Sorry for the delayed reply. We have added support for BuddyPress Profile Fields. Please upgrade to the latest version of the plugin there is a setting named “BuddyPress – Profile Fields” please enable it and give it a shot.
