    Hi David,
    I am sorry, This is not feasible at the moment. There is no simple solution. The Signup Avatar needs the user_id created after registration and it needs some other global state to be set.

    I regret my inability to assist with it for now.

    No worries. Buddypress should really implement this into the core functionality.
