I’m having similar issue than the person on this topic but I didn’t see the problem solved…
I’m using Flywheel Local Lighting as my virtual server, It supports FFMPEG and I have installed it per their instructions…
I can confirm that the installation was successful because just before i even knew MediaPress Local Transcoder exists, i had to install FFMPEG to make plugin called Video Embed Thumbnail Generator work…
This plugin has a test section for FFMPEG that clearly shows me that FFMPEG is found in directory /usr/local/bin and is working.
Have you found the cause for this MediaPress Local Transcoder bug?
If not do you know about the compability of Video Embed Thumbnail Generator with MediaPress so it would be possible to replace this component?
Welcome to BuddyDev.
Can you please check and see if there is any file generated with error when you upload the video(in the MediaPress’s newly uploaded video directory)?
I haven’t used the video embed thumbnail plugin but if they are able to generate thumbnail from dashboard for all video, it should work fine with MediaPress.
MediaPress uploads are normal attachment with custom upload location. Please try regenarting via them and see if it works.
I just see this FFMPEG is not installed error everywhere I go in WordPress Dashboard: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rhGpqqC3iPq43VhWa1UyRHYEggeNWcEd/view?usp=sharing
The encoding queue is stuck:
The file is in the gallery:
It’s just stuck trying to encode:
Bulk Processing is also disabled:
I think you should look in to it as I wasn’t the first one experiencing same issue. Do a test run or something?
Could it be that WordPress 5.6 or BuddyPress 7 upgrades have broke something with the encoder?
I’m on macosx catalina BTW.
Thank you for the reply.
I am sorry, all the images you shared have restricted access and I am unable to see it.
We have tested the plugin over Ubuntu distributions and it has worked. Our team will try the same on mac os and get back to you.
