    Hi Mike,
    Since the issue is with all your emails and not specific to the Recent Vistitors, It is happening due to one of the two reasons.

    1. Either you have a plugin that handles mail delivery(smtp plugin?)
    2. Or you have some code that disables html email delivery fro BuddyPress.

    My suggestion will be to create a staging and then checking this by disabling individual plugins.

    When I talked about html code, I meant that I put the html tags with information for the css.
