[Resolved] Document, PDF thumbnail preview

    Hi, how do i change the thumbmail preview? Can I change it to a different icon or a preview of the document?

    Hi Andrea,
    Welcome to BuddyDev.

    At the moment, There are two possibilities. We do hope to bring actual preview in future.

    1. Changing the placeholder thumbnail globally.
    2. Changing for individual document

    For 1.

    Please create “mediapress/default/assets/images” directory in your current theme

    and put your own

    
doc-large.png - for larger preview
doc-thumbnail.png - for the thumbnail

    For 2. A user can change the preview by adding a cover for each pdf.

    Also, when I click to view the PDFs on the front end I get an error message saying Error
    Failed to load PDF document. What am i doing wrong?

    Hi Andrea,
    1. For overriding, we are trying to mimic the file path of the wp-content/plugins/mediapress/templates directory.

    You need to create mediapress/default/assets/images in your theme to avoid getting it overridden in future plugin update.

    2. Are you testing the file on any local development server? We are using google doc viewer which needs the file to be public. In other words, the file should be accessible from web.

    Thank you. Both of these worked. Now that I know you access via web, I had to turn off the password to the site.

    These issues are resolved.
