I was just giving an example of the user interface. In case of member type, If you use the group option(add/remove from group), you can select one or more group and associate with each member type.
I was planning to add the same interface on the tab create/edit page.
In simple terms, you can select one or more group which creating tab? Will it be a good option or should I allow limiting tab based on group type criteria?
Oh, I see now. Yes, that would be wonderful. If a user creates a group tab and then associates one or more groups (similar to member type), that would solve everything. However, if we go with the group type criteria (I’m assuming you are referring to private, public and member), the tab would still be open to all types of that specific group type which would limit the possibilities. The former would be a better option – in my opinion.
The private, public, hidden support is already there. These are status.
BuddyPress supports group types just like member types. I am going to first add support for adding tab to specific groups and in another release, will add support for the group type too.
