1. The topic was closed and that’s why you were unable to reply/mark it unresolved. It was marked resolved/closed after your acknowledgement.
Now, coming to your issue:- I don’t see any reason for the change in Activity form causing issue with the Message component. Those are very much unrelated components.
Since Ravi had committed the changes, I am requesting him to review and assist you(in case there was some bug, he will let you know).
I have checked the staging server and it is working fine on my end i.e. redirecting me to the message screen once clicked on notification. One issue I have faced is that the notification bell showing a new notification is a bit delayed or refreshing the page.
I wanted to add that the two header icons on the top right for notifications and message inbox function normally when there is no bell. But when the bell comes up, then when clicking on the icon it doesn’t redirect.

Thank you for the acknowledgment. My changes only have an effect on the activity directory. It might be an issue with your theme. Also, give it a try after deactivating all other plugins temporarily. If the issue still persists, please contact your theme author for the same.
