[Resolved] Make site to be able to handle too many comments.

    I have a problem with my site..
    I get too many comments to posts on my wordpress site (because i do a fastest contest game “in this game votes are in form of comments” ..who ever votes the fastest..so who ever sends as many comments in the shortest time wins)

    you get the idea

    *but this stuff always makes my wordpress site go down.. When my users type too many comments*

    Sometimes it goes down and say: error establishing database

    Or

    It jst goes to the install.php page

    ..

    ..

    How do i.stop it frm happening

    Contacted my server guys..they said it happems when wordpress gets confused …cos of too many comments Too many once

    We don’t have any plans for it currently.

    As of your issue, Please check your mysql error log, that should give you some pointer.

    When it gives the “error establishing database connection”

    It takes about 30mins to 1hour before the website returns.

    It is that 30mins to 1hour downtime that i want to stop from happening each time a post is over-loaded with comments

    It depends on your hosting. My suggestion si, if you don’t know where to look for, ask the web hosting support for the log.

    The problem could be some bad query or your hosting.
