After adding image file types to the default document types the Document Gallery is still returning an error when attempting to upload that added file types.
Error Message: IMG_0490_mod-300×201.jpg(14 kb)x This file type is not allowed in current gallery. Only zip,gz,doc, pdf, docx, xls, jpg files are allowed!
For our support community some documents will be PDF and others may be JPG or PNG. However, it is common for users to snap a photo of documents with their phones and upload. We can ask them to convert to PDF but most won’t do it. It would be better if we can add additional file types to Document Galleries assuming this is reasonably simple to achieve.
Am I doing something wrong with my setup? If not, is this something that may be in a future release?
Thank you!
Hi,
Please visit settings and make sure there is no white space before/after the extensions. That may be the cause of it.Regards
BrajeshThank you! I checked this and there are not any white spaces and the JPG files are still being rejected in the Document Gallery. The error message shows what extensions have been entered exactly as entered with no white spaces. I’m thinking that this is not the cause. Do you agree?
Thank you. I am not sure though. Can you please visit Dashboard->MediaPress->Tools and post me the info?
That can help to understand the configuration.Thank you

Thank you.
I can see the issue now.In MediaPress we detect type of as media based on the extension. For that purpose, It is assumed that one extension can be part of only one type.
You are using the jpeg, jpg, gif, png for both image and documents. You can remove it from images and it will work for document gallery.
Hope that helps.
